The Easter lesson of Faith

I have been silent upon my re-entry into the Peoples’ Republic of Kanada. Trying to contain myself until I could be acclimatized and therefore react with a fair and balanced perspective. I have waited and watched.

It being Easter today, it is time to lay bare the reality of this cold dystopia peopled by a largely complacent, passive aggressive, brainwashed and fragile human lot.

There is no question as to the historical facts of what happened 2,000 years ago in Israel. The story of the Resurrection of course is a matter of considerable speculation to any rational person, but the biblical history is in no doubt as to the capture, trial and crucifixion of Jesus.

One of the astonishing truths in this story is that Jesus was willing to suffer and die as a result of his Faith. It is an extraordinary example of Faith put to the ultimate test.

I have opined repeatedly about most Kanadians and their blind faith in Big Government - of this there is no doubt. I have heard it from many of my old acquaintances and colleagues here. I have been pointing to the massive compliance with all of the irrational and totalitarian Government Covid mandates as a prime example of what I have referred to as religious zeal on the part of the ‘nice’ people of Kanada. There seemed to be no shortage of the kool-aid that Kanadians were willingly imbibing.

The standard line in all of the country - especially in my most woke and State worshipping demographic of the performing arts - has been ‘Obey the Government’ From the ‘two weeks to flatten the curve ‘ on to the next two years , this has been the mantra.

Logically speaking, it follows that if the Government says ‘ok, no more need for the mandates’, the flock of lemmings should follow.

But no. In an extraordinary turn, I see Kanadians absolutely unwilling to give up their Covid hysteria, DESPITE the Government. So, while in the past they exhibited a fetish to follow the Government edicts , now they are so far along in the pathology that they cannot live without the restrictions. Like a prisoner who is released from prison after decades in confinement and who begs to remain in prison for fear of unfamiliar freedom, the Kanadian people are paralyzed by two years of brainwashing. They wander the streets in face diapers, unwilling to meet eyes or come close to each other, while ignoring any and all Science in the process. They clamour for continuing mandates - both opposition parties in the rump of a provincial Parliament are urging a return to the lockdowns and restrictions. The Federal Government continues to serve no democratic function whatsoever while in the grip of the Singh - Trudeau axis of authoritarianism.

My own workplace colleagues are begging Management to retain all mandates, testing every day like a drug addict looking for a fix.

All of this, despite the rest of the world ( other than China, appropriately ) having moved on. Kanada is looked at with disdain and amusement by the rest of the world. But Kanadians stand proud, albeit with shaking knees, doubling down on their pathology.

So now we see that Faith in Government has been supplanted by a Faith in Fear itself which was peddled by the Government to obtain obedience. The success of the brainwashing is clear in the deep fear that has frozen this sad population into an existential stupor.

G. K. Chesterton wisely put it : ‘When men stop believing in God, they don’t believe in nothing, they believe in anything’

In the absence of Faith in the wisdom and spiritual history of a religion, people have a propensity to have Faith in something else. In the absence of Family support people weaken. With Kanadian Media all in the service of their Government masters, the people are like North Koreans in being oblivious to the hollow state of their own country. As educational institutions in this country serve primarily to indoctrinate with Ideology rather than teaching critical thinking, the resulting group think is apparent.

Choose your poison. Kanadians are choosing The Welfare State, the Covid Gods, Climate Alarmism, Compulsory Conformism and Prophylactic Censorship, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion - the list is growing and Kanada is a breeding ground for all of them.

The Belief Instinct in Humans lives on even as their common sense withers.
