The Boomer Tumour
Each day I am reminded of just how insidious the grip is that the aging Boomers have on so much around us. I see them clutching on to everything they can, trying to amass wealth, control, protection, entitlement, influence - all in aid of their desperate narcissistic denial of death. The Covid psychosis is but the latest and greatest in terms of global resonance, but wait for the next Covid - its name is Climate Change Alarmism.
More on that later.
The parents of the Boomers had very little and sacrificed much for the material benefit of their post war children. Those children have made their way through the world over time in the same way as a mouse goes through a snake’s belly - with a big moving bulge. Their demographic has affected everything in their wake- whether economically, geopolitically, on a large scale and on a small scale.
As the attached article points out, the effects of Boomer gluttony are being visited upon their own children and grandchildren. The Boomers are shameless, feeding their corpulence at the expense of basic necessities for future generations - housing, food, pensions, job opportunities being just four examples. Each of the four has been monopolized by the Boomers and each of the four is a problem of scarcity for the younger generations.
The irony of it all is that the Boomers had an easy time of it themselves. In return, they are ensuring that nobody else will do so.. Housing, once considered a possible goal, is now an impossible dream. Food was once not seen as a luxury that it seems to be now. Pensions? The fat pensions enjoyed by the Boomers are a relic of the past for the current working generations, for whom accrual rates and benefits have declined enormously.. Job opportunities are now paid at lower levels, with few including any benefits, and all taxed at much higher rates in order to fund the Boomers’ luxury pensions and caviar retirement plans. The debt levels that are now considered ‘normal’ for these younger people are a form of servitude, based on a pyramid scheme and dreams of endless asset bubbles.
The Government is aiding and abetting this grand larceny, all in the name of votes. In addition, most of the leaders, except for our dear leader Chairman Trudeau the 2nd,, are themselves Boomers, protecting their own.
The mantle must be passed. It is well past the time for Boomers to give it up and move on, so that their children and grandchildren might have even a fighting chance to gain a foothold in a world where entitlements and expectations must be tempered.
As we can see, due to the resistance of this long in tooth generation of molly coddled materialists, this is a transition that is going to require a seismic effort to achieve.
